Annie Hollis is beautiful, adventurous, and a little bit dangerous. The last boy that tried to get up her skirt wound up with a broken wrist- in three places.
Raised in privilege, her family (from Spain, mind you, not Mexico or Puerto Rico) came up from nothing. Or at least her dad did. Dad is a doctor of some sort, but Annie’s never bothered to figure out what kind. He’s hardly home due to his job, but is humble and kind when he is. Her mother is an extremely devoted non-denominational Christian, but she is a little overboard. Actually, a lot overboard, especially when it comes to sex. Mom was actually royalty in Spain, but married a farmer’s son and disowned, but that “didn’t take the royalty out of her blood.”
Annie is living the urban city single dream. Extremely career oriented, her whole existence is governed by her desire to become an editor of a major newspaper by age 27. She’s extremely nocturnal, runs the night-beat for the Labor-Tribune and never gets up before noon. It drives her mom and dad nuts.
Right now, she’s 25. And well on her way.
But then, she runs into Charley, and the world flips.
